laughtastic
thank you, cara. i needed that. cara and i had one of those ridiculous laughing attacks where you are crying uncontrollably for 8-10 minutes straight. except we were in the middle of a lecture. which, i think made us laugh harder. like 5th grade get sent to the principle hard. then in snorted. every time i heard her inhale or noticed any one of our friends looking at us, i laughed harder....

solar panels or wind? what are your other favorite forms of alternative energy? the term alternative energy is kind of weird to me. both wind and solar power are nothing new. we may be working on cheaper and cheaper ways to harness it, but i think the word ‘alternative’ turns people off. the other night, john wondered out loud who the future questionnaire would be who was going to...

i wonder if id end up saving more energy with something like this rather than waiting for the internal timer to go off. i wonder how this works in conjunction with a password (i have nosey people in my office). i think i like the idea of it counting the benefits for me, making me more aware of my impact in more concrete terms.

this year’s super bowl ads to be gentle and sweet →
the hardest part about my recent super bowl watchin activities has been my role as ‘judge’ in the annual super chili blow cook off held at the sanders abode. the judging is scheduled to take place at half time, when there is no game playing, so the people who are there for the purpose of watching the game, are able to watch instead of sitting by waiting to be awarded a prize by the...

i think we can all agree this was no big loss. this year, i’m really looking at all the candidates. i realize i am not going to vote republican, but i’d like to make that decision with a bit more insight than in years past.

these intrigued me for awhile. maybe they still do, i don’t know. but, they don’t seem at all safe. somehow, flying down the autobon seems okay, but here in the states, surrounded by all the hummer moms and huge pickups hauling nothing but ego, i don’t think i’ll be putting my deposit down just yet…

a sad day in ultimate
the founder of wham-o, inc, Richard Knerr, died at age 82 yesterday. wham-o is the company notably responsible for the invention of the hoola hoop and the frisbee. without the frisbee, ultimate would be much less fun. thanks for being such a fun guy! have fun in the next life!
