obama girls start school →
this has always been something that bothered me. a huge part of me thinks those who want to be president, need to leave notions of family behind. i don’t think its fair for kids to grow up with that. on the other hand, i like knowing that my president has been up to something valuable. i just really feel for the kids.
do we really need picture of the girls getting ready for school? ...
my dad planted three aspen trees in his back yard several years ago. one is me, one is my mom and the third is my dad. i will be sad when he moves away from this little memorial to our family.
in the front, there is also a great tree that i planted something like 25 years ago. from an acorn. me thinks i have been a tree hugger from the get go.

papa one-t and i took a stoll through the safety deposit box at the hometown bank the other day and i discovered the ole softy has a folder in there labeled ‘sentimental’ where i found gems like my dirty little footsies above. so, yes, i spose my feet have always been ginormous.

papa one-t had never made his ridiculously delicious smoked bbq baby back ribs for the squeeze before. at thanksgiving, he promised that when we were back in chi over the holidays, it would be so. and so it was on one glorious and sunny afternoon at casa one-t. but, not without a quick trip to costco. of course.
